Well! We are in the final 2 hours of raising funds for our zombie short film, Zombies 1985 and…wow. Maf & I are so overwhelmed, stoked and grateful for the support everyone has given, all the sharing of links & tweets, all the backing & encouragement….just fantastic. Thank you all so much!!
Soo – a taste of what’s to come – I wanted to post a few more ‘heartwarming’, bloody & narly pics from the day of shooting (which was July 22nd). What a blast it’s been so far – the cast & crew were fucking outstanding! I’m very confident we’ll bring our backers something they’ll really dig.
Some fun shots? Well…of course we were all out at Benge’s house (who I am collabing on the score with)who was very tolerant of all the fake blood & screaming! Here we are striking a pose…me as 1985-era zombie extra (blink & you’ll miss me & my AMAZNG acting…)
Our awesome makeup team! Pea Robins, Anna Coleman, (me) , Evie Kelleher & my ‘zombie sister’ Jo Bunett:
And the “blood of choice”:
Our stellar leading man, Lee Bane, who plays “Neil” (named after our Kickstarter backer!) – a greed ridden businessman in the 80’s “yuppie -scum” heyday, on his way home from a victorious day at work….he was a total badass!
The fantastic zombie kids, Kaya & Zan doing their closeups for Maf…(the commmon phrase on set became “CUT! Clean the window! More blood!):
Maf & I with our awesome sound dude, Steve Lamb…he was one of the first to back the project and came down to help out!
And of course Lyn, who plays Freya (also named after one of our backers!) Neil’s long-suffering wife who gets her revenge in the end (Interesting note, Lyn really is Kaya & Zan’s mom!)
So! That should give you an idea of how much fun we had at least! Maf is now going through all the footage & editing, and in a few days I’ll go down to see Benge & work on some ideas before we return to LA.
Exciting indeed! And thanks so much you guys. xx
