The Creatures’ Choir… A tender rememberance, methinks.
I must share a quick musing with you…I was riding my mountain bike back from YAS Silverlake yesterday, when suddenly I was sweetly clobbered over the head by an idea to work into a new ‘interlude’ I’m finishing for I Speak Machine. It was inspired by a composition that hasn’t reared it’s beautiful face with me in many years – since I was a senior in high school, to be exact, called “Prayers from the Ark and The Creatures Choir”. There’s a beautiful bit in the ending that moved me to tears back then, that resurfaced clear as the tiny crystal bell that sat atop my grampa Herman’s Hammond…I found it on iTunes here, the song was Noah’s Prayer. Those arrangements just kill me. Plus I have 20 years of association with this music built in my circuits, and that lies deep in the blood, doesn’t it?
So – I spent yesterday with that inspiration on my shoulder, all the while charmed by how these things resurface as creative food after so, so long.
And guess what…after tracking a 6 part choir, each voice 6 times, I wound up not using it. Yet.

Above: note that just about all those voices are muted. Cute.
Happy Saturday to you, then – now I’m off to Stylophone 2 studies for a while.
