Behind the world of I SPEAK MACHINE with Tara Busch & Maf Lewis

The BBC Radiophonic Workshop!! Utterly Lovely Documentary Series…

Via fynci on YouTube, here is this stunning documentary series about the legendary BBC Radiophonic Workshop. It has certainly been high on my list of priorities to learn more about this wonderful bit of history that revolves around Desmond Briscoe, Daphne Oram, Delia Derbyshire, Brian Hodgson, John Baker & Roger Limb and EMS founder, Peter Zinovieff (to name a few) . Here are parts 1 and 2 ! More to come.

Do you have any Radiophonic Workshop tidbits for us? Do show & tell!

  1. Have you seen ‘What the Future Sounded Like’? It is a doc about EMS and features Tristram Carey and Peter Zinovieff. Well worth checking out if you can.

Also don’t forget ‘The Tone Generation’ this Friday at 19.30 GMT on Resonance FM. You can listen online if you aren’t in the London area. This weeks show features music from Briscoe, Oram, Derbyshire, Carey and more British electronic composers.
